April Stamp of the Month Bloghop

Welcome to the April Stamp of the Month Blog hop.  The featured stamp set is called Flower Pot.  Just like our weather here in NC, this set reminds me of summer and it is my favorite stamp of the month set in our spring catalog!  Because the set reminded me that it is almost time to plant summer flowers, I decided to use it to make a card/seed packet holder to send some seeds to a friend who's garden got flooded out last year.  I won't send the seeds shown in the packet right now but I had those on hand for the photo :)!  I want to find my friend some perennial seeds.

For the card I used the Veranda papers, a colonial brad and ribbon.  Here's a pic.

March Stamp of the Month Blog Hop

It's blog hop time again!  If you arrived here from Georgia Hauglid's blog, you are on the right path.  When you are ready to continue to the next blogger, you will find the link at the bottom of this post.
This month our Close To My Heart set is packed with 26 Sentiment stamps for Holidays and Special Occasions.  It also includes a scallop border and a set of brackets to frame those sentiments.  I am currently working on a baby album for my grandson who is due the end of March and this set worked great for the 1st Birthday layout in the album.  My plan is to do the entire album using the Caboodle paper packet ... love those papers!  Here's the layout ... I wish I had pictures to show off ... I mean share :).

For my card, I used:

  • Emporium Paper Packet
  • Crystal Blue, Tulip and Black Inks
  • Spring Blossom Just Blooms
  • Pearls (previous connection club reward)
  • Filigree Charms
  • Colonial White Ribbon

Here's my card:

The Bill Collector

I like organizing my bills by the week that I will pay them each month, so, I searched for an organizer that would allow me to sort my bills into 5 different weeks.  Several months back I found a clear plastic literature organizer that had 6 slots in it which was perfect for what I wanted to use it for!  I use the 6th slot for "future" bills.  Anyway the organizer was a little boring so I thought I would spruce it up a bit :)!  Below is the original organizer and the altered version.  I used the Veranda Paper Packet, the new Spring Blossom Just Blooms, Filigree Charms, Dimensional Letters, and the "to do" journal spot from the Journey Journaling set.

Makes looking at those bills a little less dreary!

November SOTM Blog Hop

It’s time for the November Stamp of the Month Blog Hop featuring the Close To My Heart stamp set “Around the Block”. Following along is simple to do - just click on the link at the end of the post on each blog to move to the next one!

I thought this month’s stamp set was perfect for a cover of a “Neighborhood Recipe Album” I’ve been wanting to create. I love collecting recipes and it seems I never come home from a get together or function without a recipe or two in hand! Those are always the best recipes too because people like to bring their favorite dish and they are usually flattered and ready to share the recipe. Now I have an album to house my favorite recipes gleaned from neighbors over the years!

Below are pictures of my album and the supplies I used.

Album Cover

Inside Recipe Pages
Note:  The outside edge of the recipe pages are not adhered to the page in the book so that additional instructions could be inserted or tags with photos/info about the person the recipe came from.

Grace - Workshop on the Go

I really wasn't planning on ordering the Grace Workshop on the Go, my plans were to get the Twitterpated workshop because I loved the cute stamps in that one.  I was surprised to get my last order with Grace in it instead of Twitterpated .... dummy me put in the wrong order #!  Although not the package I really wanted, I really enjoyed using the papers and stamp set!  Below are some of the cards and layouts I created using this kit and I still have lots of papers leftover for more layouts.

This layout of my dog Ginger and I used the template that came with the instructions, just switched some of the papers.

For this layout of my son and his family, I used the Monologue template, pg. 52-53 of Imagine.  The crabs on the layout were drawn by me.  You can click the layout for a larger view.

I can't remember which patterns I used for these two cards but they came from the Wishes book.

In case you are wondering, here's what you get when you order the Grace workshop.
